10 Year Anniversary of “In Christ Alone”

Beginning this month, www.gettymusic.com is starting a program called “1 + 1“.  Each month, The Gettys will share the background of one of their existing hymns and introduce a new song.

In January, they begin with the background to “In Christ Alone”.  Within this video, Keith tells that this month marks the 10 year anniversary of this song’s composition date with Stuart Townend.

This would be a perfect opportunity to share this in your congregations this month!  There are many arrangements of this song on youtube, iTunes, etc.  Visit LifeWayWorship.com or GettyMusic.com to purchase sheet music.

“In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand.”

    • it’s my pleasure. had the opportunity to sing in the Christmas choir at Louisville’s SBTS…it was awesome! Would love to e-mail some questions sometime for the Getty’s for an informal interview for the blog! Is that a possibility, maybe after the baby is born?

    • great! thank you for your comment…I’d love to to a brief interview sometime about lifewayworship.com and its impact on worship/music ministry sometime for the blog!
